It is not required for all, however shipments can be held by local authority in United Arab Emirates after screening due to lack of MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) or NON DG (Dangerous Goods) declaration letter from the shipper resulting to misconnections and impacting end-to-end service.
It would be advisable for all shipments originating, transiting and terminating for UAE to have MSDS or NON DG declaration from shipper enclosed in the shipment and copies to be uploaded in IDIS.
According to the Free Trade agreement between Chile and European Union Countries or Territories, EUR1 will be needed for imported shipments with a declared value of 6000.00 Euros and over. For shipments with less then 6000.00 Euros, they need to be accompanied by an original invoice clearly stating the merchandise is from a country or territory member of the European Union and with a customs stamp on the invoice.
Postal codes are NOT required for shipments to Chile. Although postal codes exist for certain addresses in Chile, unless provided by the customer, leave destination postal code fields blank in UPS shipping systems or on waybills.
Import volume: Santiago - Via del Mar - Valparaiso are the only cities in Chile served directly by UPS. The rest of the country or territory it is served by a third party agent. UPS does not offer service to Easter Island (another address must be provided).

There are special stipulations on the following commodities when shipping to Chile. If you plan to ship one of the commodities listed below, be sure to adhere to the following stipulations in order to avoid delays and holds at customs.
All imported animal food products will be inspected by the SAG (Agriculture and Livestock Dept.) before Customs can clear shipment. This process will delay the shipment by 1 to 2 days.
The entry process approval from Chile Health Ministry, if the information is sent ahead of the arrival of the goods. takes about 48 hours, and then it can be presented for clearance with Chle Customs (Certificado de destinacion Aduanera), for delivery to the address of the consignee.

An Import License is required for commercial shipments of medicine. The Prescription has to accompany the package. However, it is not required to be on the outside of the package. It is acceptable to be included inside the package.
Shipments valued greater than US$30.00 will pay all customary duties and taxes.
In addition to a detailed description of each item, write additional comments of "gift shipment" on the invoice and in the Special Instructions box of the UPS Waybill to insure a proper assessment of duties and taxes.

Non-compliance will result in customs hold and delays until the information is received.
Additional charge of US$40.00 plus tax will be charged for all packages paying custom clearance that do not indicate Tax Importer ID (RUT).
Chile Customs will no longer accept a proforma type of commercial invoice (for example UPS Worldship, ETPS2, etc.) as an import document for preferential treatment of duties and taxes from countries or territories that have a free trade agreement with Chile. Imports arriving with this type of documentation will either pay the regular duties and taxes or if they want preferential treatment will have to request a "regular/normal" commercial invoice and will therefore incur delays and warehousing expenses.
Chile Free Trade Agreement:
In order to meet the Free Trade Agreement guidelines established between USA and Chile, the shipment must be accompanied by a Certificate of Origin and an original commercial invoice stating that the goods are of U.S. origin. They should both be presented to customs and if approved by the Custom Officer, they may be exempt from paying 6% duty.
