It is not required for all, however shipments can be held by local authority in United Arab Emirates after screening due to lack of MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) or NON DG (Dangerous Goods) declaration letter from the shipper resulting to misconnections and impacting end-to-end service.
It would be advisable for all shipments originating, transiting and terminating for UAE to have MSDS or NON DG declaration from shipper enclosed in the shipment and copies to be uploaded in IDIS.
Computer-generated invoices are no longer accepted, only invoices on company letterhead or the original invoice. All other types of invoices will cause the shipment to be held.
The consignee's telephone number must appear on the waybill, but it is not required on the invoice. Shipper must also include on the invoice the freight charges and insurance since the Government of the Turks and Caicos Islands has now imposed a 15% charge on freight and insurance as of the 8th July 2013. Consequently, all imported items into the Turks and Caicos Islands are required to have the freight charges(mandatory), and insurance charges, (non-mandatory), stated on the invoices of the shipments entering the country or territory.
Compliance with these regulations will expedite the importation of shipments being imported into the country or territory.
The destination country or territory considers the following items document shipments. If criteria are listed, the shipment must meet the criteria to be considered a document shipment.
In addition to the prohibited commodities listed here, it is prohibited to ship the following commodities to Turks and Caicos.
